HARTMANN AND MASTER’S SEAL.

Dear Judge:—My attention has been called to an article in the Lotus Bleu (June) in which it is said that the letters of Mahâtmâ Μ. used to bear no seal at the time of H.P.B. If any one will look at page 25 of my Report of Observations, he will find it stated, that on February 5, 1884 I received a long letter bearing the seal of the Master, in Tibetan characters.[2]

Yours very sincerely,

Hallein, July 27, 1895.                                                                F. Hartmann.

[2] [R. H.—I have examined page 25 of Dr. Hartmann’s Report of Observations, and have not found any mention of a seal or even any Tibetan characters on that page. Dr. Hartmann merely misstated the page number. Page 29 is the content Dr. Hartmann is referring to. I quoted in part: “I took the pincers and was about to close the drawer, when—there lay in the drawer a great envelope, addressed to me in the well- known hand-writing of the Master and sealed with the seal bearing his initials in Thibetan characters.”]
