Theosophical Correspondence.
Translation from German by Robert Hutwohl[1]
The origin of the moon.
Question: — Is it true that, as occult science claims, the moon arose from the earth?
Answer: — Occult science teaches nothing of the sort, but just the opposite, namely that the earth was formerly a satellite of the now dead celestial body that is now our moon, and that the earth still receives astral radiation from the body parts of the same, which have a great influence on the sexual life of animals, just as plants thrive on the graves of the dead. You can read more about this in H. P. Blavatsky’s “Secret Doctrine.”
Idiocy.
Question: — What is the cause that idiots are born?
Answer: — The state of the parents during and after conception. If the father is drunk during conception, nothing good will come of it, and the effect that the state of the mother during pregnancy has on the child is well known. The “astral body” does not enter the fetus fully formed, but only acquires its organization through the material body.
Ill-placed warnings.
Question: — Should we warn people about false prophets and “clairvoyants”?
Answer: — This is completely useless; everyone only becomes wise through his own experience, and the gullible never become all wise. If someone claims that the twelve apostles appeared to him and danced in front of his bed, no one can prove to him that it is not true. Everyone can believe what he likes to be true.
